Sprouting Sociologist

The purpose of this blog is to inspire and prepare those interested in higher education so they can maintain their motivation, and gain access to resources to get that degree.

Since my passion for sociology runs deep, this blog will also contain resources for students, as well as instructors, for teaching, and doing of, sociology. You may find these on my Doing Sociology page.

From the blog:

“If you are able to reflect on your purpose, you will get through every, single, piece, of your reading material for the semester: and the rest of your time in academia.”

About Me

Jori Adrianna Nkwenti (She/Her) graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato (2022) with a Master’s of Sociology. Their academic interests include family, culture, international studies, emotion, and scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL). They can be found writing blog posts, academic papers, and conducting qualitative and quantitative research.

Outside of academia they spend time with family (including hanging out with their cat Denzel), drink ice tea year-round, and listen to music. This blog is a space where they share their oh-so-entertaining academic experiences, lessons learned, and a bit of their extracurriculars.
